How can you get to the Blue Mountains from Sydney?

What are the Three Sisters?
One of the most popular places to visit in Sydney is the Blue Mountains and many people go there to see the incredible mountain vistas but also the very unusual sandstone rock formation on the north escarpment of the Jamison Valley called The Three Sisters. This spectacular landmark in the Blue Mountains is located at Echo Point in Katoomba & is visited by millions of people each year.
The Three Sisters is essentially rock formation representing three sisters who according to Aboriginal legend were turned to stone. Each of them stand at 922, 918 & 906 metres tall, respectively which is about 3000 feet above sea level.
The character of this formation changes throughout the day and the seasons as the sunlight brings out an array of magnificent colours which can create some spectacular photography opportunities. Our tour takes advantage of the late afternoon light which has a softer palette and enables you to create photos with wonderful hues in the sky using the The Three Sisters as your subject.
Is this Blue Mountains Day Tour suitable for seniors?
Is this day tour to the Blue Mountains good for couples?
Will we get to see or touch Kangaroos or Koalas on this tour?
Our tour does not include a visit to an animal park and this has been done for a couple of reasons. Firstly we didn’t want to fill our itinerary with so many things that you can’t relax and enjoy your day. When you look at most tour itineraries they only allow a short period of time at each stop, combined with 30+ people on a tour and you have lots of time lost during the day simply getting into and out of locations.
The other reason is cost – by removing the common tourist traps in Sydney that don’t add much value to your experience we can also keep the costs down and make it more reasonable to visit the Blue Mountains on a budget.
Best of all, with our tours we don’t just wander to a couple of look outs, we immerse ourselves into the forest through a couple of longer walks where you might end up seeing Australian wildlife in their natural habitat such as a Lyrebird or Echidna doing what animals do naturally.
Does this tour go to Scenic World?
Our tour is focussed on immersing yourself in the natural wonders of the Blue Mountains and avoiding the tourist crowds. So we don’t include a visit to Scenic World, but we do provide the option for people to be dropped off and return 2.5 hours later.
We know from our own local experience that people who live in Sydney typically don’t visit this location and we choose to spend our time exploring parts of the Blue Mountains that will be more memorable for your trip & help you create some amazing photographs to take home of the ‘real’ Australia

How much is a Scenic World Ticket?
$50 per adult
Is there enough time on a day tour to do all the rides at Scenic World?
It would typically take up to 3 hours to enjoy all the main attractions at Scenic World and wait times increase significantly for each ride during peak seasons. When you consider the length of time you spend fighting the crowds, waiting in line and being shuffled around like sheep then it reduces the time you have to actually enjoy your holiday, hence we don’t include it in our day tours to the Blue Mountains.
Does the Picture Me Blue Mountains Day Tour visit Katoomba?
Picture Me Day Tours to the Blue Mountains include visits to a number of locations including Katoomba which stops at Echo Point and also drives through the main part of town.
Does this Picture Me Blue Mountains Day Tour visit Leura?
Picture Me Day Tours to the Blue Mountains includes a visit to the Leura Cascades, its a natural location that we love to visit where you can capture some amazing photos. So rather than spending time visiting the shops in Leura that are mainly designed for tourists, we enjoy nature.
Does the Picture Me Blue Mountains Day Tour visit Jenolan Caves?
Jenolan Caves is one of the other top things to do in Sydney and to enjoy them would mean taking a full day at this location. It is another hour or so drive away and there are a number of different cave systems to visit meaning there isn’t enough time to do it justice on our Blue Mountains Day Tour.
Can a family go on this day tour to the Blue Mountains?
This will depend on the age of everyone coming along. If all family members are 15 years or older then a family can book a day tour exclusively depending on how many of you there are.
For families with children under 15 years of age a Private Day Tour would need to be organised
